Berhampur: In a significant progress in its fight against corona pandemic under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Ganjam district has been witnessing constant drop in COVID-19 active cases for the past several weeks.
The number of active cases in the district now stands less than 300 after the gap of nearly three months.
Ganjam had crossed 300 active cases on June 24 and now it is below the 300-mark, informed district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange through a Twitter post.
As per the latest report of the State Health and Family Welfare Department, the southern district has now 285 active cases of COVID-19.
With this, Ganjam has become the third district in State to have less number of active cases after Deogarh and Gajapati; both the districts have 121 and 205 active cases respectively.
Ganjam, which was once regarded as the COVID-19 hotspot in Odisha, has successfully handled the crisis and has emerged as the role model in the State.
