COVID-19: Singapore to Get Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine by End of December

New Delhi: Singapore will get its first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine by the end of this month, announced Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong today.

The Southeast Asian country is planning to offer COVID vaccine on a free and voluntary basis to the entire population before the second half of 2021, the Prime Minister said.

He said that the government has been working to secure COVID-19 vaccines, adding that it was not a “simple exercise” as more than 200 vaccine candidates were under development, and not all would succeed.

The UK has already commenced its mass vaccination programme, while the US was due to receive its first batch of the Pfizer vaccine on Monday.
