Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 situation has improved a lot in Odisha’s Ganjam district, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.
While interacting with BJD MLAs over video conferencing, Naveen said, “You should be glad to know that the COVID-19 situation in Ganjam district has improved”.
With the improvement in situation, five COVID care centres in the district have been closed, the CM said.
However, Naveen pointed out that Khordha and Cuttack districts need special focus to bring improvement in the situation.
The CM lauded the dedication and sacrifice of frontline warriors in the State’s fight against coronavirus.
He urged the party legislators to boost the morale of the COVID warriors and create awareness among the people.
Ganjam district, which has been once regarded as the COVID hotspot in the State, is now witnessing constantly drop in daily caseload. The recovery rate in the district has tremendously improved.
As per the Health Department, as many as 15883 COVID-19 patients in Ganjam district have been discharged from hospitals post recovery. The total number of active cases in the district now stands at 1592.
