COVID-19 Vaccination: CMC Starts Pick-and-Drop Facility for Senior Citizens

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation has started the pick-&-drop facility for senior citizens and differently-abled persons for COVID-19 vaccination.

This has been informed by CMC Commissioner Ananya Das during a press briefing on Saturday.

The facility can be availed by the beneficiaries by dialing the number 9777067297, issued by the CMC.

The CMC team will pick up the elderly people from their homes and take them to the vaccine centers and drop them after vaccination, the CMC Commissioner said.

More than 3.5 lakh doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in Cuttack so far, she said.

The CMC has also been organizing special vaccination camps at old-age homes and slum areas in the city and also offline vaccination camps for the beneficiaries, who are unable to register online, Das added.

The civic body has also started a special vaccination drive for the students who will travel to foreign countries for studies.

Talking about the COVID-19 situation in the city, the CMC Commissioner said that the daily positive cases have been constantly falling due to the enforcement of lockdown.
