Cricket Fever Grips Twin Cities Ahead of Semis

Bhubaneswar: With the Indian cricket team making way to the semi finals of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, the cricket mania has spread like wildfire in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The preparations for watching the semis began just after the Indian team defeated Sri Lanka on Saturday. While many have plans to watch the match at home with family members, the young generation is preferring watching the match in groups. Arrangements have also started for screening of the match in colleges. Many hotels are also making space for screening the India New Zealand semifinal. The gentleman’s game has created a fever in the twin cities.

As the Indian team is the hot favorites to go to the finals, the eagerness among the cricket enthusiasts has multiplied. Cricket clubs and street clubs in the capital city have also made arrangements to watch the match. Even cricket merchandise such as t-shirts, caps, bands and balloons are selling like hotcakes. As the weather can play spoil sport to the arrangements, there is a plan-b to watch the match inside halls.

“We are going to watch the Cricket Match in a group sitting in a field near to our club. We have made seating arrangements for more than fifty people. If it rains we will shift the place inside the club house”, said Dinabandhu Sahu, a resident of Bhubaneswar.
