CS and 5T Secretary Review Covid Preparedness In Balangir

Balangir: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and 5T Secretary VK Pandian today visited Balangir and reviewed the administration’s Covid preparedness. This comes just a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appreciated the efforts of the Balangir Collector Arindam Dakua for successfully operationalising the Covid Hospital in a short time.

The visiting officials reviewed the newly set up 200 bedded Odisha Covid Hospital established by Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences in the KISS Campus. The hospital has state of the art health infrastructure along with 20 ICU beds.

During the review of various aspects related to Corona preparedness, the Chief Secretary and 5T Secretary held detailed discussions with the Collector and other senior officials of the district. They stressed upon strict implementation of lockdown and advised the administration on speeding up MGNREGS program for rural livelihood. They also reviewed the facilities made available for the stranded labourers in the district. The Chief Secretary has advised the administration for strict adherence to social distancing norms in all activities.

They also discussed about the farming activities going on in the district and stressed upon the resumption of agricultural activities.
