Cuttack: Senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian came down heavily on Cuttack MP and BJP candidate Bhartruhari Mahtab without taking his name at an election meeting here on Wednesday.
The Cuttack MP was physically in the BJD, but mentally he was in the BJP, Pandian said while speaking at the massive public meeting.
With the blessings of Biju Janata Dal and the Chief Minister, the current MP has been elected from Cuttack constituency six times, Pandian said.
When there was a discussion in the Parliament regarding the fight against COVID-19, the MP from Cuttack got an opportunity to speak on behalf of the Biju Janata Dal. In his 20-minute speech, the MP did not talk about the role of Odisha or the Chief Minister at least once in the fight against the pandemic. He only talked about the central government. At that time he forgot Odisha and Naveen Babu. On that day it was revealed that physically the MP is in the Biju Janata Dal but mentally he is with the BJP, Kartik Pandian said.
Odisha’s role in the fight against COVID-19 was commendable at the national and international level. Odisha was number one in the fight against the pandemic.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister, thousands of doctors, health workers, government employees worked hard day and night to fight this epidemic to save millions of lives. Oxygen cylinders were sent from Odisha to various states of the country to save people’s lives, he said.
He called upon the people to give a befitting reply to the BJP MP candidate in the elections.
