Bhubaneswar: With Cyclone Jawad likely to cross Puri cross tomorrow and heavy rains lashing the coastal regions, the District Administrations have made elaborate arrangements for shifting of pregnant women to nearest hospitals.
In Kendrapada, 73 high risk pregnant women with the Expected Date of Delivery within 15 days have been shifted to various CHCs before the ensuing Cyclone Jawad. In Ganjam, till 9.30 AM of today, a total of 189 pregnant women have been shifted to nearest hospital delivery points, and among them 17 have got safe delivery.
In Jagatsinghpur’s Kujanga, as a preventive safety measure for the impending Cyclone Jawab, high risk pregnant women and with expected date of delivery (EDD) within the next 15 days have been shifted to the DHH, CHCs & private nursing homes. Likewise, Gajapati administration has shifted a number of pregnant women of Nuagada Block with approaching Expected Date of Delivery to nearby BK Pada Maa Gruha keeping in view the impending cyclone.
