Berhampur: In the commemoration of physical prowess and athletic virtue, the 37th Annual Sports Meet of De Paul School, Berhampur unfolded its spirited saga from November 16 to 18.
Nestled within the capacious confines of the school’s athletic domain, this event bore witness to the presence of Rocky Martin, head of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Foundation at Tata Steel Gopalpur, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Martin imparted motivational fervor to the burgeoning sportsmen and women, invoking the ethos of true sportsmanship.
Reverend Father Ricardo Pradhan C. M., the principal of the institution and the driving force behind its triumphs, infused the athletes with the values of fitness, industriousness, and perseverance. He extolled the extraordinary performances of the athletes, urging them to persist in regular physical exercise as a conduit to attaining remarkable heights.
In a ceremony befitting the occasion, the esteemed chief guest and the principal bestowed upon the triumphant athletes the trophies and medals emblematic of their victories.
The senior category champions, Amresh Sahu and Diptimayee Das of Class 10th, emerged as paragons of athletic prowess. In the junior category, Swayam Pradhan and Advita Panda of Class 7th ascended to the summit as champions. The super senior category witnessed the crowning of Amrit Senapati, Ashish Ekka, and Soumyajeet Nahak as the exemplary male victors, while Sanjana claimed the title of the finest female athlete.
In the denouement of the proceedings, Rocky Martin, the chief guest, formally declared the closure of the Sports Meet. The denizens of gratitude were conveyed by ASPR of the school, Bansita Biswal, thus concluding an event replete with athletic valor and dignified spectacle.
