New Delhi: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court Special Judge Bharat Parashar has found former Union Minister Dilip Ray guilty in the coal mines allocation scam.
The case pertained to alleged irregularities in the allocation of a Jharkhand coal block in 1999.
Dilip Ray was the then Minister of State for Coal in the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This is the first conviction of any Minister in the Coal Scam. Sentencing is scheduled on October 14th. The charges against Dilip Ray were framed in April 2017.
