Dense Fog Paralyses Normal Life in Many Parts of State; Twin Cities Report Less than 20 Meter Visibility in Some Places
Bhubaneswar: Normal life was paralysed in many places across coastal, interior and northern Odisha as heavy fog disrupted movement of vehicles early morning today. Dense fog was reported in Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Rayagada, Angul and many other districts, where the visibility went down to less than 20 meters in some places. Twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also experienced dense fog today morning for more than four hours. Vehicular traffic was also affected in the Capital. In Konark, the Sun Temple was not visible for the tourists for quite some time in the morning.
The Indian Meteorological Department has also reported that Moderate to Dense fog was observed in parts of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur and Angul districts. It has issued yellow Warning for Fog for eight districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack and Nayagarh. Due to westerly system, some places of Northern Odisha are likely to get light to moderate rains on the 1st and 2nd February.
