Devotees Throng Puri for Nabajouban Darshan

Puri: Thousands of devotees thronged the holy town of Puri to witness Nabajouban darshan of the Trinity on Tuesday.

After spending nearly 14 days in Anasara ghara (sick room), Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will reappear before the devotees in their rejuvenated youthful form today.

The deities were under medication at the Anasara Ghara after Snana Purnima (bathing) ritual June 17.

The deities were treated by the temple Vaidya (physician) for almost a fortnight and kept on a diet of fruits and dry food.

Elaborate preparations have been made for the smooth conduct of the rituals.

Special arrangements were made for Paramanik ticket holders (paid for tickets) for darshan, which would start by 2 pm and continue till 3.30 pm. Sahana Mela (free public darshan) would begin by 3.30 pm and continue till 4.30 pm,  the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration said.
