Devotees to Be Allowed to Attend Snana Yatra This Year

Puri: The devotees will be allowed to take part in the Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath this year.

It has been decided at the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb at the Neeladri Bhakta Nivas here on Tuesday.

Chief Administrator of SJTA Vir Vikram Yadav, Puri Collector Samarth Verma, SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, and members of the Managing Committee were present at the meeting.

Devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the Trinity for three hours at the Snana Mandap of Srimandir. However, they will not be allowed to touch the deities.

After the gap of two years, the devotees will get to witness the ceremonial bathing ritual of Lord Jagannath and his sibling deities on June 14.

The modalities for conducting rituals of from Snana Yatra to Niladri Bije were approved at the meeting today, informed SJTA Chief Administrator.

The world famous Rath Yatra will be held on July 1.
