New Delhi: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel and Mines Dharmendra Pradhan today called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.
The meeting held at the Odisha Bhawan lasted for about 30 minutes and both the leaders had a discussion on various issues related to Odisha.
It was the first meeting of both the leaders after the elections. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan discussed about Fani reconstruction and rehabilitation. Also they had a discussion on the development of the Steel industry in Odisha.
Speaking to media after the meeting the Union Minister said “Odisha has good potential in the steel sector and the steel policy calls for production of 100 MT of steel in Odisha”.
Both the governments will work in collaboration for the development of the state.
The Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister and said he is happy to meet him.
Both the leaders also discussed on the issued related to employment generation and other development aspects.
Reacting to the political viewpoint of the meeting Dharmendra said “people of Odisha have given their mandate and it was not a political meeting”.
The Chief Minister said it was a cordial meeting and he believes in constructive cooperation with the central government for the development of Odisha.
Naveen said, “Firstly I would like to thank the people of Odisha who came to congratulate me. I had a cordial meeting with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on how we can give further employment and welfare with mutual programs of the state and center for the benefit of the people of Odisha”.
“I am hopeful that a lot of good things will come out of the meeting. We believe in constructive cooperation with the Central Government”, he added.
