New Delhi: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Friday.
The Union Steel and Petroleum Minister is expected to meet the Chief Minister at Odisha Bhavan in the national capital, sources said.
Both the leaders will discuss about the issues relating to the development of petroleum and steel sectors in Odisha.
Notably, Naveen Patnaik is on a seven-day official visit to New Delhi after being sworn-in as Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth consecutive term.
The Odisha CM met President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and apprised them about the progress of relief and restoration works in the State in the aftermath of cyclone Fani.
Naveen sought financial assistance of Rs 5227.68 crore from the Centre for restoration and rehabilitation work in Odisha.
Naveen, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s residence, also demanded that Odisha, which is hit by major natural disasters, should be declared as ‘special focus states’ and granted benefits of a special category status for a specific period.
