Dharmendra Pradhan’s Allegations on Relaxation in MCC Shows His Desperation and Frustration: BJD
* Dharmendra Pradhan’s Only Interest is His Politics, Not Well-being of People of Odisha
* Whenever Pradhan opens his mouth, he is a disaster
* When All the Four Phases of Elections Are Over, What Will Model Code of Conduct Do?
Bhubaneswar:
Coming down heavily on Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his
allegations regarding relaxation in the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), the
Biju Janata Dal said that the BJP leader does not have the basic sense
and knowledge about the importance of a national level calamity that is
fast approaching the Odisha coast.
It is seen that that during
situations of natural calamities, through the statements and stand taken
by political leaders, the stature of leadership of a leader is seen.
However, the utterly disgusting, cheap and narrow political statements
made by BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after meeting
the Election Commission is extremely unfortunate, despicable and
condemnable, the BJD said.
When all the four phases of elections
are over, what will Model Code of Conduct Do? Doesn’t he (Pradhan) have
the basic sense and knowledge about the importance of a national level
calamity approaching?, the BJD asked the Union Minister.
“This shows his desperation and frustration”, the ruling party said in a statement.
Whenever Pradhan opens his mouth, he is a disaster. Even today when he was no different, the BJD said.
The
elections are over and Dharmendra Pradhan should rise above party
politics and think for the people of Odisha but for him, politics and
political opportunism is supreme, even before the people of Odisha and
their welfare and well-being, the BJD said.
The Union Minister
should learn from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh where the opposition joined
hands with the ruling party when the state was faced with calamities.
But here Dharmendra Pradhan only indulges in narrow and cheap political
statements, the BJD further stated.
“As you are aware Cyclone
Foni is approaching Odisha. It is a very severe cyclone as reported by
the Meteorological department and therefore the Biju Janata Dal
Government is taking all precautions for the safety and relief and
restoration activities”, the ruling party said in a statement.
“Considering
this Hon’ble Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal President Shri. Naveen
Patnaik had approached the Election Commission of India for lifting the
Model Code of Conduct from 11 districts in Odisha for rescue, relief and
restoration activities. The Election Commission has rightly lifted the
Model Code of Conduct from those districts”, it further added.
The
BJD also urged all to join together and do the best for the people of
Odisha as the State is facing a rarest of rare Summer Cyclone.
