Dhirendra S Kutey Awarded President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service

Bhubaneswar: Senior Indian Police Service Officer Dhirendra S Kutey has been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Kutey is a 1997 Batch Odisha Cadre IPS Officer and is currently posted as Special Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Earlier in 2013, Kutey was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Republic Day.

Dhirendra S Kutey has been instrumental in controlling the Maoist menace in the state. His management of intelligence gathering and anti-Maoist operation strategies have been well appreciated.

As Superintendent of Police of Gajapati district, Kutey successfully demolished the maoist bastions in the district and bordering areas.

His stint as SP at Rourkela and Jajpur saw tremendous improvement in the law and order situation, control of crime and anti social activities. In Jajpur, he had contributed immensely towards improving the law and order situation in the industrial areas and bringing in a conducive environment.

As the DIG SIW and subsequently as IG SIW (Intelligence), Kutey has been credited with scripting the most successful anti-maoist strategies that saw the downfall of the red menace in the state.

He has also worked as DIG Central Range, State Transport Commissioner. He is currently posted as the Special Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
