On the instruction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited the birthplace of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das at Satyabhamapur in Cuttack early this morning. The 5T Secretary paid his humble tributes to Madhubabu and discussed about the development of the place with the local people and administration.
The development works will be carried out under the 5T initiatives of the State Government. By April 15, the plan for development will be prepared and presented to the Chief Minister for approval. A museum will be established at the birth place of Madhu Babu.
Madhubabu’s hundred-year-old birthplace and work place will be developed as a single museum complex and this heritage site will be preserved. It is worth noting that after returning from Calcutta, Madhu Babu stayed in a house near his birthplace and engaged himself in the service of Odisha. This is famous as his karma bhumi. The street connecting birthplace and the karma bhumi will be redeveloped. It is said that Madhubabu’s mother used to bring food from her native place to her workplace every day on this road. A light and sound show will also be arranged here. It will explain the glorious biography of Madhu Babu and his achievements. There will be multilingual interpretation for the convenience of viewers from Odisha and outside Odisha. The museum will be developed in consultation with all concerned persons related to Madhu Babu’s biography and heritage sites.
The 5T Secretary directed the authorities to prepare a plan with very high standards of work. A welcome arch will also be put up at the entrance of the village which will be built with Khandalite stone. A parking place will also be developed near Madhubabu’s Karmabhoomi.
The 5T Secretary also interacted with the inmates of the Child Care Institution run by Kasturiba National Memorial Trust and wished them a happy Utkal Dibas.
