Berhampur: Firecrackers worth Rs 50 lakh were seized by police in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday.
Acting on a tip off, Dharakote police seized huge quantities of brand firecrackers worth Rs 50 lakh while transporting in a truck, informed Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai.
“Acting on a tip off, Dharakote Police seized huge quantities of brand firecrackers worth of Rs.50 lakh while transporting in a truck bearing regd No.OR07B 4101. In this connection Dharakote PS case No.169/2020 has been regd through Odisha firework & loudspeaker Act”, Rai tweeted.
Notably, the Odisha Government has banned the sale and use of firecrackers between November 10 and 30 in view of the COVID-19 situation.
