Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths have apprehended Bikash Sana, Accountant-cum-Programmer at the District Education Officer (DEO) in Nabarangpur, while demanding and accepting a bribe today. According to Vigilance Department sources, Bikash was arrested by the Vigilance officials while he was taking a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 from a complainant (Transport Contractor) to pass transport bills of MDM Rice to be distributed at schools points and to facilitate release of security deposit in his favour.
The Vigilance Department had laid a trap and arrested him. Following the trap, residential rented house of Sri Sana at Nabarangpur and his own house at Umerkote are being searched. In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case 17/2022 U/s 7 PC (Amd) Act 2018 has been registered.
