Bhubaneswar: It was a tense day for the leaders of various political parties in Odisha today as the results of Patkura elections were to be declared.
Though the elections were important for everyone and all were glued to the television sets for updates, CM Naveen Patnaik was seen in a regular disposition as he was busy doing his daily chore such as jugging and yoga and was unfazed by the outcome of the polls.
He was well aware that the people of Kendrapada love Biju Janata Dal and they will shower their blessings on the party candidate.
Riding high on the clear Naveen wave, the ruling Biju Janata Dal registered a landslide victory in Patkura Assembly seat in Kendrapara district with a handsome margin of over 17,000 votes on Wednesday.
BJD candidate Sabitri Agarwalla secured 95,162 votes after conclusion of 18 rounds of counting defeating her nearest rival BJP’s Bijoy Mohapatra, who got 77,507 votes.
