Field Assistant Apprehended for Taking Bribe in Mayurbhanj 

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended a Field Assistant at office of Asst. Director, Sericulture, Baripada in Mayurbhanj district for allegedly taking bribe.

The Field Assistant has been identified as Bibhuti Kumar Mallick.

Mallick was nabbed while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.1,50,000 from a Member of Rural Research Development Council, Mayurbhanj (Tussar) for submitting feasibility report in his favour for tussar silk worm plantation in 1500 hectares in Bisoi, Kusumi and Bahalda Blocks under District Minerals Funds in the district of Mayurbhanj.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Mallick from DA angle.

In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS case No.34 dt.29.12.2023 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Mallick.
