Berhampur: More than 28 lakh people have undergone screening under the ‘Oxygen Checking Campaign’ in Ganjam so far, informed the district administration.
The door-to-door campaign was launched on September 8 in order to prevent a possible second wave of COVID-19 infection in the district.
As on September 16, 2868193 residents in the district were screened under the campaign.
Of the persons screened, eight persons have been found to have very low oxygen saturation level (SpO2).
Necessary medical intervention is being provided to all persons with very low SpO2 levels, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said.
The campaign is being organized in all blocks, NACs and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area in the district.
Persons with very low SpO2 levels (below 92%) will be immediately referred to a Dedicated COVID Hospital and persons with SpO2 levels between 92-95% will be referred to the Dedicated COVID Health Centre, the district admin had said earlier.
Frontline COVID warriors are also ensuring IEC activities as a part of the campaign, it added.
