Berhampur: The Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has declared Sankarpur Street here as access control zone in order to contain spread of COVID-19 in the area.
This has been informed by BeMC Commissioner Chakravarti Singtr Rathore through a notification.
On the basic of local inputs, it is apprehended that there might be good number of persons residing in Sankarpur Street who might have come into contact with some positive cases. Hence it is necessary to declare the area as access control zone to safeguard the public and control the spread of COVID-19 through active surveillance, the Commissioner said.
No public shall be allowed to move into the access control zone and the inhabitants within the access control zone shall remain in home quarantine till further orders, the BeMC notification stated.
All the inhabitants within the access control zone shall strictly remain in home quarantine. All shopping establishment of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately.
The supply of essentials and medical requirement will be ensured through various teams formed by BeMC.
Besides, all the government and private institutions located within the boundary of the access control zone are hereby closed forthwith, the notification adds.
