FIH Hockey World Cup: India To take On New Zealand In Crossover Match Today

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Hockey team will take on New Zealand today in the crossover match to be held today at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. On winning the crossover match, the Indian team will get entry into the quarter finals of the IFH Hockey World Cup. In the other crossover match to be played today, Malaysia will take on Spain.

The Indian team is confident of winning their match against New Zealand despite the exclusion of Hardik Singh. India has a good winning record against New Zealand as it has lost just two matches in the thirteen matches played in the last five years. On winning the crossover, the Indian team will face Belgium in the quarter finals. Malaysia and Spain will try their best to stay in the top eight teams. They are facing each other for the first time since 2019.

Australia, Belgium, Netherlands and England have entered the quarterfinals by virtue of being leaders in their respective pools. The other crossover matches are – Germany Vs France and South Korea Vs Argentina.
