Filmmaker Rajamouli Disheartened by Littering at Odisha’s Highest Peak ‘Deomali’ 

Bhubaneswar: Noted filmmaker SS Rajamouli expressed his dismay over the littering of garbage at Deomali, the highest mountain peak in Odisha, located in the Koraput district.

Rajamouli, who reportedly shot an action sequence in Koraput for his upcoming film SSMB 29, went on a solo treak on the Deomali trail. The filmmaker expressed his concerns over the environmental neglect the picturesque spot.

While, Rajamouli was captivated by the scenic beauty of Deomali, he also highlighted the poor condition of the mountain. During his visit, he saw observed plastic waste and garbage spoiling the natural beauty of the area .

The filmmaker urged authorities and the public to take collective responsibility in preserving the environment and maintaining the cleanliness of such pristine locations.

Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Rajamouli wrote, “Had an amazing solo trek to Deomali, Odisha’s highest and most stunning peak. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. However, it was disheartening to see the trail marred by litter. Such pristine wonders deserve better. A little civic sense can make a huge difference… Every visitor should carry back their waste to help protect these places”.
