Puri: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has faced massive protest for her padayatra in Puri. An FIR has been lodged against Sarangi at the town police station here by Shrikshetra Vikas Manch and intellectuals of the pilgrim cit demanding legal action against the BJP leader, according to reports.
The people of Puri have welcomed the heritage corridor project being carried out at the Srimandir. Why is the Bhubaneswar MP opposing it, they questioned.
It seems that Sarangi is adamant on creating law and order situation in the holy city of Lord Jagannath.
Despite the district administration denying permission to the Srimandir Banchao Abhiyan to hold a mass protest in the city and the organization itself withdrawing the proposal to protest, Aparajita has reached Puri in the name of having Darshan of the deities. But, on the contrary, she is being accompanied by hundreds of supporters who have come with her from Bhubaneswar and other places.
The action of the Member of Parliament can create serious law and order situation Puri as the district administration had denied any permission to hold protest rallies.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party has also distanced itself from the Srimandir Banchao Abhiyan protest, Aparajita has been politicizing the Srimandira Parikrama Project. BJP’s local MLA Jayant Sarangi has also said that Aparajita is always welcome to Puri but she should not do politics in the name of Heritage Corridor.
