Bhubaneswar: The first COVID-19 patient in Odisha has recovered from the virus after treated with plasma therapy.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, a 48-year female patient in Cuttack district has recovered from COVID-19 after treated with plasma therapy at Ashwini Covid hospital in Cuttack.
“Happy to share that a 48-year old female patient of Cuttack who was the first patient of #Odisha treated with Plasma Therapy (at Ashwini Covid hospital) has recovered and is being discharged today”, the Health Department tweeted.

So far, 13 patients have received plasma therapy in the State and most are recovering well, it added.
Further strengthening the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, the Odisha Government has announced to start the Convalescent Plasma Therapy for the treatment of serious patients at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar and MKCG MCH, Berhampur.
