Dhenkanal: Dhenkanal district has reported the first death of a COVID-19 warrior in line of duty.
The 58-year old male frontline warrior succumbed to the virus on August 17 on COVID-19 duty, informed district Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera.
“With profound grief, this is to inform that first Covid warrior, 58 years male, DSI of RO of our dist. has succumbed to Covid-19 on 17-8-20. On the report of State Death Audit Team, H&FW Deptt. declared his death due to Covid-19 today. We pray the noble soul may Rest in Peace”, the Collector tweeted.

Dhenkanal district has so far 1028 cases of Coronavirus, including 351 active cases.
