Hinjilicut: With a message to spread awareness on single-use plastic, the first Raahgiri Day was celebrated in the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Hinjili constituency on Sunday.
The eventful morning in the town gave an opportunity to the residents to socialize, fun, play, celebrate and create memories and move towards sustainable, healthy and happy living.
People from varied age groups turned up in large numbers and participated in activities like roller skating, cycling, painting, dancing, yoga and aerobics among other things.
A section of road in the Hinjli town was kept closed for cars, scooters and other vehicles in the morning for the celebrations.
The event encouraged the people leave their vehicles, get out of their homes, get moving and promote physical activities at least for one day in a week.
Hinjilicut Municipality had made elaborate arrangements to make the event successful and memorable.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, Project Director, DRDA Siddharth Shankar Swain and Hinjili BDO Prasana Patro were among the participants in the event.
The first Raahgiri Day received an overwhelming response in Hinjilicut.
