Berhampur: Four youths were rescued from a forest in Maharashtra with the help of Berhampur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda and SP Pinak Mishra.
The youths, who are from Berhampur city, were rescued by Maharashtra police following the intervention of Berhampur MLA and SP.
The youths were kept in hiding in a forest without food and drink. They were taken to Maharashtra in pretext of offering jobs there.
As the matter came to the notice of Berhampur MLA, he immediately took steps for the safe return of the stranded youths.
The Berhampur police intimated the matter to their counterparts in Maharashtra.
The Maharashtra police rescued the youths last night.
The youths will reach Berhampur on Saturday, sources said.
Meanwhile, people of the Berhampur have praised the local MLA and SP for their intervention to rescue the stranded youths.
