French Open: Djokovic To Lock Horns With Nadal In Men’s Final

Paris: Novak Djokovic will be locking horns with Rafael Nadal in the final on Sunday of the French Open as the Serbian emerged triumphant in the semi-final clash against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

World number one Djokovic, the 2016 champion at Roland Garros, reached his fifth final in Paris, defeating fifth seed Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6, 6-1 in a roller-coaster of a contest where he had held a match point in the third set.

If Djokovic wins the French Open, then he will become the first man in half a century to win all four Grand Slams twice.

Nadal, the 12-time champion, defeated Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 to make a 13th final at the tournament.

With this win, Nadal also registered his 99th win at the Roland Garros. The Spaniard made his debut at the French Open in 2005 and he is now just one victory away from equalling Roger Federer’s all-time record of 20 Grand Slam titles.
