G Udayagiri NAC Chairman Byelection: BJD’s Debasmita Satapathy Registers Huge Victory

Kandhamal: The Biju Janata Dal candidate Debasmita Satapathy has won the G Udayagiri Notified Area Council Chairman byelection with a huge majority. The results of G Udayagiri NAC Chairman election held on Wednesday were announced today. According to the Election Officer Ranjan Kumar Sahu, Biju Janata Dal candidate Debasmita Satapathy got 3111 votes while her nearest rival from BJP Ranjita Nayak got only 756 votes. Congress candidate Madhulina Digal stood at the third position with 614 votes.

Out of the total 8155 voters, only 4519 had cast their votes in the elections held yesterday. After her victory, Debasmita has thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Kandhamal MP Achutya Samanta, G Udayagiri MLA Saluga Pradhan, BJD District Observer Bijay Nayak, Biju Janata Dal workers and the people of G Udayagiri. She told the media that, the success is dedicated to the blessings of her late mother and former Chairman Bhanuprabha Mishra and she will try to fulfill her long-cherished dreams and work for the betterment of the people of G Udayagiri.
