Paralakhemundi: As the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic has hit the Odisha’s Gajapati district, the administration is adopting a multi-pronged approach, which involves a multi disciplinary coordination and activities, to prevent the spread of virus.
Gajapati district, which has successfully mitigated the first wave of coronavirus, is carrying out massive IEC activities in micro containment zone at Amara village in Paralakhemundi block.
The village has been declared micro containment zone following the detection of three positive cases.
All vehicular movement, movement of public transport and personal movement have been stopped. Strict perimeter control is being ensured. All shops and other establishments within the containment zone have been closed. However, supply of essentials and medical requirements have been ensured through various teams formed by different line agencies.
Active surveillance is going on through visiting door to door by HW, AWW & Asha.
The district administration has roped in the health team to carry out large scale IEC activities to sensitize the residents about the proper Covid behaviour to prevent the spread of virus.
Led by female health workers, the IEC activities highlight the importance of wearing face mask, maintaining social distance, hand hygiene and other COVID protocols, which are essential for the people to protect themselves from the virus, said Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha.
He said that the administration has taken all necessary measures to meet any sort of emergency situation.
