Gajapati Maharaja Appeals People of Odisha to Sincerely Follow Lockdown

Puri: A day after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced extension of lockdown for another 15 days to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), Gajapati Maharaja of Puri Dibyasingha Deb appealed to the people of the State to sincerely observe the lockdown.

In a message, the Gajapati Maharaja also hoped that the COVID-19 menace will soon disappear with the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

Notably, the Odisha Government on Thursday decided to extend the lockdown till April 30, stating that saving the lives of the people is the top most priority of the government at this juncture.

Odisha is the first State in the country to extend the lockdown.

Several leaders have welcomed the Odisha CM’s decision.
