Bhubaneswar: Gajapati Superintendent of Police, Sara Sharma again hit headlines, this time for her noble cause of adopting a village in one of the remotest parts of the country.
Sara, who is well known for her active community participation along with her duty as a devoted Police Officer, adopted a small village named Sindibur in Gumma block of Gajapati district. It is situated on a hilltop with minimum basic facilities like pucca roads and other amenities.
She went to the village and had an interaction with the villagers regarding their requirements and difficulties. According to her, some of her old students belonging to the National Law University in Chhattisgarh, where she was in the teaching profession, lent a helping hand and made some donations. She also contributed a considerable amount and decided to adopt the village.
Despite rains lashing the area yesterday, Sara went to the village along with some police personnel and enquired about the requirements of the people of the village. She said, the priority will be providing basic amenities to them. We will try to minimize their difficulties and make their lives a bit better.
