Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation-Mahatma Gandhi, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ‘Mu Safaiwala’ campaign today here in city.
While launching the campaign, Patnaik participated in the ‘shramadan’.
Since sanitation is the primary focus of any urban body and it needs to be participatory to ensure a behaviour change model for an effective management of waste. With this objective the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has devised ‘Mu Safaiwala’, a behavior change model of promoting child ambassador to percolate message of participatory waste management approach.
Under ‘Mu Safaiwala’ campaign, all school children will solemnly pledge for 10 important points of sanitation behavior which in turn would motivate them to be a change agent for bringing desired sanitation behavior ensuring waste management for a clean and eco-friendly Bhubaneswar.
