Berhampur: As many as 236 migrants, who were placed under quarantine at various centres in Ganjam district, have been discharged from the temporary medical centres (TMCs) on completion of mandatory 21 days quarantine as instructed by the Odisha Government.
This has been informed by Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange through a Twitter post.
While 118 persons have completed quarantine in Sheragada block, 112 persons completed their quarantine in Dharakote block and 6 in Rangeilunda block.
The persons have been discharged from the quarantine centres after completing 21 days successful quarantine, the Collector said.
Notably, the Odisha Government has increased the quarantine period to 28 days from 14 days.
The 28-day quarantine period included 21 days institutional quarantine and subsequent seven days home quarantine. All returnees will have to follow the norms, the government said.
The decision has been taken in view of 28 days incubation period of the coronavirus.
