Ganjam Admin Appeals Families To Go For Covid Testing Before Marriage Functions

Berhampur: With the marriage season ensuing in the state amidst strict lockdowns and shutdowns, the Ganjam District administration has come out with a novel appeal for families who intend to organize marriages. The district administration has requested all families who want to organize marriage functions adhering to Covid-19 guidelines to go for Covid-19 antigen tests. If any person of the family is found positive, then the administration will not give permission for the marriage function.

This request comes at a time when the district administration is trying its best to keep the infection numbers under check. There were also some instances where marriage functions were held breaking all guidelines and the local administration had to intervene and stop gatherings in marriage functions. According to the latest Covid-19 guidelines, no m ore than fifty people can gather at a marriage function and they have to adhere to other guidelines such as maintenance of distance and wearing of masks etc.
