Ganjam Admin Extends Helping Hand to Child Suffering from Rare Skin Disease

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has come forward to extend helping hand to a child suffering from a rare skin disease.

Ten-year old Jagannath Pradhan from Ganjam’s Sheragada block has been suffering from an autosomal genetic disorder that causes his skin to grow very fast, dry and shed, according to sources.

The boy often faces difficulty in walking properly and needs a stick to help him stretch out his limbs.

Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Wednesday visited Gothagaon of Sheragada block to see the condition of the child patient.

He said that the administration will provide all possible support for the proper treatment of the boy.

He said that the district administration will provide all possible support to the boy for his proper treatment.

A medical team will inspect the child and will ensure proper treatment, he added.

Initial help is ensured to the child patient through Red Cross.
Earlier, Ganjam Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) and his team had examined the condition of the boy, who was brought to Berhampur by RBSK team.

Jagannath’s family is unable to afford the cost of his treatment due to financial hardship, sources said.
