Berhampur: Coming down heavily on Covid Guidelines violators, the Ganjam District administration has taken stringent action against a noted hotel in Gopalpur on Sea. The administration, which received information regarding the violations during a marriage function, swung into action and Collector Vijaya Amrit Kulange himself went to spot and ordered for sealing the Ocean Resort Hotel. The Hotel cum Mandap has also been fined Rs 2 Lakh.
The Hotel was hosting a marriage function of a relative of former Gopalpur MLA Trinath Behera and was attended by many high profile people. While there was gross violation of Covid guidelines by organizing the function after 10 pm, there was also illegal parking of vehicles on roads creating problems for other vehicles. Ganjam Sub-Collector and Gopalpur NAC Executive Officer V Keerti Vasan was also present.
