Berhampur: Mo Gaon Re Tahasil, a people-friendly service delivery programme started by the Ganjam district administration in line with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s 5T principles of governance, received an overwhelming response among the people on the very first day of inauguration of the programme today.
As part of the initiative, workshops-cum-camps were organized in 23 Tahasils across the district with an intent to provide on the spot solutions to the land and revenue related issues of the people.
More than 6039 people attended the programme and presented their problems before the officials from tahsildar offices.
As many as 4,774 cases related to mutation, OLR-8(A), 19(1)(C), Vasundhara, GKP, e-Pauti, Ex-gratia, encroachment and Misc. certificates were registered at the service delivery camps, sources said.
Besides, Odisha Record of Rights (RoR) were handed over to 1371 people at the programme.
Expressing satisfaction over the response to the ‘Mo Gaon Re Tahasil’ initiative, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that the administration will leave no stone unturned in resolving peoples’ problem in a transparent manner.
The Collector also urged the officials to look into the cases registered at today’s programme and take necessary steps for immediate resolution.
He also directed the Tahasildars to share their experiences about the programme.
As per sources, the administration is planning to hold similar workshops at the same venues next month to follow up the cases.
Apart from it, the Mo Gaon Re Tahasil programme will be organized every week at four new venues in a block.
Meanwhile, the programme has been widely appreciated by the people and intellectuals in the district who consider it a good reform initiative to make the Tahasil office free from middlemen and brokers.
