Ganjam: BJD Holds Condolence Meeting for Late Alekh Choudhury

Berhampur: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has held a condolence meeting for late Alekh Choudhury, who passed away here on Friday in a tragic fire mishap.

The Ganjam unit of the BJD organized the meeting at the party’s Berhampur office where the local leaders and party workers paid tributes to the senior leader.

The meeting was attended by Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, and MLA Bikram Panda, Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi and Ganjam BJD President Ramesh Chandra Chyau Pattnaik among others.

The leaders expressed condolence over Choudhury’s sad demise and prayed for the departed soul.

They also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Notably, Choudhury (69), who was also president of Berhampur Central Co-operative Bank (BCCB) and two others died in a fire mishap at Gosaninuagaon in the silk city in the wee hours of Friday.

The fire broke out due to a suspected electric short circuit in the air conditioner in the house of Choudhury, when they were sleeping in the three-storey building at Panigrahi Street at about 2.30 am, according to the reports.
