Ganjam Collector Turns Farmer

Berhampur: In a bid to inspire farmers to adopt new methods of agriculture and attract youth towards farm sector, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange himself became the farmer today.

Kulange had gone to a muddy agriculture field in Bharasa village in Mathura panchayat under Khalliote bock to have a direct interaction with the farmers.

The Collector was seen planting paddy adopting line method of plantation.

Talking to the Newsroom.co.in, the top official said that it was an unplanned visit to the agriculture field to know about the farmers’ problems and their methods of cultivation.

During his interaction with the cultivators, the Collector encouraged them to take advantage of various government schemes including KALIA to enhance farm productivity and improve their livelihood.

Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the officials to make extensive field visits in order to get feedback from the people at the grassroots level about the implementation of welfare schemes and programmes.

In line with it, the Ganjam Collector’s surprise field visit has given a good message to the people and also deeply motivated the farmers.
