Berhampur: Vigilance officials today conducted raids at houses and properties of a sarpanch in Odisha’s Ganjam district on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
As per sources, a team of anti-corruption wing from Berhampur conducted simultaneous raids at six places including the residence and panchayat office of Usanta Sahu, sarpanch of Ankaroda under Digapahandi Block.
The raids were conducted following allegation against the sarpanch for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The vigilance sleuths are enquiring several documents and papers relating to the allegation, sources said.
Sahu has been a sarpanch since 15 years.
