Berhampur: In a tragic incident, an elderly farmer couple were electrocuted to death after they came into contact with a live wire at Burupada village under Hinjilicut police limits in Ganjam district in wee hours on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Heena Samal (65) and his wife Bisnu Samal (55).
According to reports, the incident took place when the couple has visited their agriculture field to pluck the cauliflower at around 4 am on Saturday where they accidentally touched an 11 KV live wire that was snapped from an electric pole.
Both were taken to hospital but the doctors declared them dead at the hospital.
