Berhampur/Gopalpur: The inmates of Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home (SSCCH), Gopalpur today celebrated the 75th birthday of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with great enthusiasm.
The children organized a host of meaningful programs inside their campus to celebrate the special day.
“October 16 is always a special day for all us as it is the birthday of our patron and honorable CM Naveen Patnaik sir”, said the inmates of SSCCH.
The children began the day with a prayer for the Chief Minister wishing him good and long life in service of the people of Odisha.
All 53 inmates of Shraddha Sanjivani greeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by putting up banners and meaningful messages.
The SSCCH, which provides shelter to orphans and the vulnerable children, has also organized a meeting where the children spoke about the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his welfare programmes for children.
The children have also planted saplings to celebrate the special day following the COVID-19 guidelines.
“It is our gesture of love and affection to our beloved Chief Minister by celebrating his birthday”, said Lokanath Mishra, one of the founding members of child care home.
The Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home was set up by the Ganjam District administration in 2007 during the tenure of the then Collector VK Pandian, now the Secretary to CM (5T), at Gopalpur to give a new life to the destitute children.
With the support of Shraddha Sanjivani, the children, who are below the age of 18, are fighting the social stigma being associated with HIV.
At present, there are 53 inmates in the Child Care Home. They are in mainstreaming education and attending schools and colleges without any discrimination.
Notably, the new campus of Shraddha Sanjivani was inaugurated in 2016 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The new campus has 5 residential blocks with 60 attached toilet rooms, spacious kitchen and dining hall, assembly hall for 100 people, yoga mandap, sick room and a skill building unit.
