Chatrapur: Odisha’s government ‘Mo School’ chairperson Susmita Bagchi today visited Onslow High School here to review implementation of the programme.
Bagchi, who was on a visit to Ganjam district to review implementation of Mo School programme, was greeted by the teachers and students at Onslow High School, one of the oldest schools in the State.
Bagchi had discussed about the implementation of Mo School initiative at the school. She also discussed about the functioning of smart class and other development projects at the school.
The teachers and school managing committee had informed her about the infrastructure requirement of the school.
District Education Officer Sanatan Panda, Chatrpur BEO Abhinash Satapahty and other officials were present during the discussion.
Bagchi also contributed Rs 1 lakh to the school for the various development works.
Notably, Susmita Bagchi’s husband and business author Subroto Bagchi was an alumni of Onslow High School. He had studied here for around eight years.
Susmita Bagchi highly appreciated the dedication of the teachers towards their duty.
She also expressed her satisfaction over the implementation of Mo School initiative at the Chatrapur-based school.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the ‘Mo School’ initiative in 2017 to create a platform where alumni of institutes can connect and contribute for the development of their alma mater.
It has become one of the largest alumni contribution programme in the country with project cost touching a whopping Rs 100 crore mark this September 2019.
This unique initiative of Odisha State Government is based on the philosophy of ‘giving back to support schools for an inclusive process of growth’.
