Ganjam: PD DRDA Urges High Schools to Implement “Waste to Wealth” Mission of ITI Berhampur

Berhampur: Keerthi Vasan V., Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Ganjam today urged the high schools to implement the ‘waste to wealth’ mission of ITI Berhampur.

Speaking at the workshop held at the ITI Berhampur campus, he has asked high school headmasters to adopt the ‘waste to wealth’ mission of the industrial institute in their respective schools by training students to convert scraps into sculptures and models.

He said that under the leadership of the Scrap Man of Odisha, Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, Principal, ITI, Berhampur all the schools will learn to adopt the waste to wealth concept.

All the students from 600 schools will visit the campus. They will be trained with the good practice of ITI, Berhampur and install various beautiful sculpture and models at their schools under the 5T initiative of the State Government.

ITI Berhampur is the leading institute in the country and always takes the responsibility for innovation for the betterment of the state and country.
The workshop titled “Waste to Wealth” was inaugurated in the presence of J. Sonal, Commissioner, BeMC, Keerithivasan V, PD, DRDA, Ganjam, Binita Senapati, DEO, Ganjam and Dr Rajat Panigrahy Principal ITI Berhampur.

More than 600 headmasters and headmistresses from different schools of 22 blocks have participated in the workshop.

The BeMC Commissioner has appreciated the innovative skills of ITI students in converting scrap into wealth.
“I am highly delighted to see the sofas on which we are sitting on the dais. This is a commendable attitude of ITI students who converted waste into usable products,” he said.

The participants visited various workshops, E-Lab, Scrap Park, Covid Innovation center and the Scrap Museum of Institute.
