Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths today caught a revenue inspector of Surada tehsil in Ganjam district while accepting a bribe.
The accused RI has been identified as Basanta Kumar Mallick.
Led by Additional SP of Vigilance Santanu Padhi, the anti-corruption officials nabbed Mallick red-handed at around 4.30 pm while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from Dukhi Mallik of Gajalbadi village of Surada block.
As per sources, the RI allegedly demanded bribe amount from Dukhi Mallik to get Gharabari Patta ( ROR) of her land.
The bribe amount has been seized from the office drawer of the accused, sources added.
